Mark is a UK based children’s illustrator and storyboard artist based in rural Lincolnshire - where he lives with his wife, cats and horses.
Ever since his Dad bought him his first Spiderman comic as a kid, Mark has always wanted to be an illustrator - growing up on Marvel, Star Wars films, Garfield cartoon strips and Quentin Blake illustrations.
All self taught, he now takes inspiration from the countryside, animals and natural world around him, combining quirky line art with bright colours, subtle textures and a sprinkle of humour - which lends itself ideally to the children’s book market.
Equally comfortable with an HB pencil as he is with his Apple pencil, Mark works mainly in Adobe Fresco or Procreate before finishing things off in Photoshop or Illustrator and has been fortunate enough to see some of his greeting cards published by Emotional Rescue and Quitting Hollywood, as well as having cartoons published in the Bodyshop Magazine and on WD40 cans!!
Away from illustrating and when he’s not wishing he was Spiderman, Mark can be found teaching himself the guitar, exercising or riding his horse - a far cry from that first comic!!
